Hi people, I am offering Indian Classical Bharatanatyam Dance Classes from June 2nd- Aug 4th on Thursdays in Phoenixville, PA.
Bharatanatyam is a classical dance form originating in Tamil Nadu and currently held as the national dance of India. The dance has its inspirations from the sculptures of the ancient temple of Chidambaram and is accompanied by the classical Carnatic Music.
Bharatanatyam is considered to be a 'fire dance' — the mystic manifestation of the metaphysical element of fire in the human body. The technique includes:
• Abhinaya or Natya - dramatic art of story-telling in Bharatanatyam
• Nritta - pure dance movements, as a medium of visual depiction of rhythms
• Nritya combination of abhinaya and nritta
7-12 year olds 5:30 - 6:30
Teens and adults 6:45 - 8:15
$65 per 5 week session
